Staff Profiles

John Harward, Manager of WorkSmart.
John has a BA from Victoria University of Wellington, a Graduate Diploma in Career Development from Auckland University of Technology and a Diploma in Teaching. John is also a SPELD tutor. He has worked in the government, private and not-for-profit sectors.

John is a Member of the Human Resource Institute of New Zealand and the New Zealand Association for Psychological Type.

Aleta Jenkins, Career Consultant at WorkSmart.
Aleta has a Graduate Diploma in Career Development from the Auckland University of Technology. Aleta has worked in public and private sector jobs both in Australia and New Zealand and spent twenty years as a consultant with the New Zealand Employment Service. She has run her own business and has been a private consultant within the employment industry.

Aleta has a particular interest in developing and presenting vocational training packages.

Mike Burgess, Career Consultant at WorkSmart.
Mike has many years experience working as a mental health support worker and who has formal qualifications in Teaching Adult Students and in Mental Health Support Work.


Mike has a particular interest in planning training and in supporting both employers and employees to create relationships that work long term. Mike has previously worked in the insurance industry and has successfully run his own business.

Alison Misseldine, clerical support person at WorkSmart.
Apart from being a wonderful office organizer and the person who maintains our database, she enjoys gardening, looking after her family and her dog, who has a special place in her life.
