WorkSmart

Worksmart logo phixrWorkSmart provides people with an opportunity and support to work in real employment within the open job market.

We have considerable experience working with people with barriers to employment, in particular:

  • mental health issues
  • alcohol and drug dependency
  • learning disabilities.

We specialise in helping people identify their preferred work options and then support them in their new workplace. If you are thinking seriously about part time or full time work, or a return to the workforce, please give us a call.

Earthlink is supported by the government for this programme, through its WorkSmart division.

People who have been employed as Earthlink workers or who have engaged in Earthlink’s training or pre-employment programmes often enrol with WorkSmart as they prepare to move on and extend their careers in the wider job market.

How we can help you

WorkSmart caters principally for people from 16 to 65, who have mental health issues, drug and alcohol concerns or other disabilities. We also offer our services to refugees who frequently face barriers to employment.

Some people who have been out of work for some time may have lost confidence in their abilities and need support to regain their confidence.  Others may benefit from counselling, training or coaching support to enable them to return to the paid workforce or to develop new careers. Our team of qualified career counsellors is able to provide this specialist input.

WorkSmart’s range of career services include:

  • career counselling and career planning
  • career development seminars
  • life coaching programmes
  • numeracy and literacy assessment and training (including the use of modern computer software)
  • resume writing.
We also provide:
  • job interview simulations
  • job shadowing
  • work experience and workplace assessments
  • mentoring support
  • employment contract advice
  • benefit advocacy
  • assistance with access to the Ministry of Social Development’s Mainstream programme.

We provide support for employers in maintaining placements and in some cases may be able to assist in arranging wage subsidies for new employees.
