Employment Training Course

This course is designed to help participants develop workplace skills and knowledge that will help them gain employment or more advanced training opportunities.

The course covers:

• workplace health and safety
• employment rights and responsibilities
• creating a resume
• what to do when you start a new job
• a basic knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi
• a basic knowledge of small machinery maintenance e.g. lawnmowers
• other skills designed to assist you to find and keep a job.

Assistance is given to each person to help them achieve at their own pace. Students only need to bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Those who successfully complete the training course have a good foundation to achieve more success in work, study, or further training.
